Running a Standard RealPage Report

If the More link is available for a report you are running, that report is a standard RealPage report. There are various types of standard reports, including Crystal reports, SRS (SQL Reporting Services) reports, XML reports, and HTML reports. All of these report types allow you to run the report now or later, review previously run reports, and add the report to a scheduled report group. The difference is output options.

  1. To run a report, locate the report you want to run and click the Generate link.
  2. Select Now or Later to determine when the report will be run.

If you select Later, you must also select the date and time. The report is then scheduled to run at the later time and appears in the scheduled reports list.

Scheduling a report to run later is not the same as scheduling a report as part of a scheduled group. You are selecting the report to be run one time at the specified date and time.

  3. Click the drop-down arrow in the Format field and select the type of report format you want. Available format options include:
    • PDF or SRS PDF produces the report as a PDF file.
    • Word produces the report as an RTF file.
    • Excel or Excel export produces the report as an XLS file.
    • CSV produces the report as a CSV file.
    • XML or Standard XML produces the report as an XML file.
    • HTML or HTML report produces the report online.
  4. In the Email upon completion field, enter one or more email addresses that you want to receive an email message when the report is finished. To enter multiple email addresses, separate them with semicolons.

The system sends an email message notifying the recipient that the report has completed. The email message includes a link that allows the recipient to display the completed report. The email message does not include the actual report. Refer to Job Completion Notification Email Messages in the appendices for more information on notification messages.

  5. Complete each parameter (reporting option) for the selected report. These options define what information is included in the report and how that information is presented. You can create different versions of the same basic report by choosing different options. A few reports have no options.
  6. If you selected Later at step 2, click the Schedule button. The system adds the report to the report schedule and returns you to the Reports & Tasks tab.

If you selected Now at step 2, click the Generate button. The system displays a message notifying you that the report is being run. If you leave this message open, the system displays the report online when it is finished. Continue with step 7.

If you close the message, you will use the Most recent link or the View completed option to display the report later.

  7. Follow your browser options to complete the download. The report downloads based on your select options and format.
