IDV/IDVP: Uploading Pay Stubs from their Phone

Applicants do not need to adjust any camera settings when uploading documents for Income Verification – Premium (IVP). However, all pay stubs must be uploaded in PDF format, and image files (such as JPGs) are not accepted. Applicants should upload pay stubs from within the last month (the two most current).

Why Confusion Occurs During the IVP Workflow

When the upload tool prompts the applicant for a document, a mobile device may automatically open the camera. Since the camera saves photos as JPG files—and the IVP system only accepts PDFs—this can cause confusion or prevent upload completion.

Recommended Steps for Applicants

1. Use a Document Scanning App or Built-In “Scan to PDF” Feature

Instead of taking a standard photo, applicants should use:

  • A dedicated document scanning app, or

  • Their phone’s built-in “Scan to PDF” option.

These tools automatically save the document in the correct PDF format.

2. If They Already Took a Photo

Applicants should convert the JPG image to a PDF before attempting to upload it.

3. Upload From Device Storage

If they already have a PDF saved, they can upload it directly from their phone’s file storage instead of using the camera.

Following these steps ensures that documents upload correctly and prevents disruptions in the IVP process.
